This was to be the nicest of the three camps we stayed at although it was no more enjoyable than the other two. It represents quite an investment on the part of Serena and features a great dining area/lounge which has no solid walls, windows, or doors. No tent tonight; we had a neat duplex permanent building. Like everywhere, the staff was all extremely pleasant and helpful. Also like all three camps, checkout was a bit cumbersome since all our items that we charged to our room had to be tabulated and added on a simple calculator to determine our bill. These camps have one or two computers but they seem to lack the networking which totals and prints bills. Maybe next year, eh?
We were welcomed with a short Massai dance. On the morning we left for our short flight to Massai Mara several of our group observed a member’s birthday. Happy birthday, Jean! Oh, the white van you see in the parking lot is what the “other folks” use for their game drives. There is nothing better than our land rovers, however which have removable tops and ride very nicely.
