We were here for four nights and it became home very quickly. As always, everyone seemed to be pleased to see us and to help us to have a great time. Of the three camps, this was the “economy” line but it was more than we needed and we felt well cared for. When we had an early-morning drive we were given box breakfasts which could have easily extended into lunches as well. In fact, this entire trip was a weight-gain kind of experience even though we were always busy.
The reception area of the camp was simple and featured a nature room as well as a computer which we were invited to use. Our tent was certainly not primitive and we had a hot water bottle in bed every night even though we never saw it happen. The Tale River “ran” by the camp and we could even see animals just outside our tent front – such as this Bush Buck. The river was crossed via a suspension bridge which swayed even more after one drink. There was a warning at the other end, by the way, which told us to go no further without an armed escort. This camp had an observation tower which was amazingly cool on a hot afternoon.
As was the case in all three camps, the dining building was open-air in that there were no doors or windows. All three featured very comfortable seating and we felt like we were in a fine restaurant. Also, all three camps included a bar and a gift shop. Let’s not get too far from civilization – right?
